Badge or business card?
Both routes enter the same reviewed lead flow. The input, preparation and plan differ. OCR always produces suggestions; your team confirms the details manually.

What differs
Choose by the source available. After confirmation, both routes use the lead form, local storage, synchronization and separate contact preferences.
| Criterion | Badge capture | Business-card capture |
|---|---|---|
| Input | An event badge with a known layout. | A printed business card with a free layout. |
| Recognition | Apple Vision reads the relative regions marked in Badge Studio on the iPhone. | Apple Vision reads text lines on the iPhone; fixed rules normalize email, phone and URL, while other lines become field suggestions. |
| Preparation | An event admin stores a sample badge and marks its relevant regions. | No badge template is required; capture the complete card in readable light. |
| Review | Every OCR value stays editable until manual review. | The raw line, source and mapping remain visible until manual confirmation. Missing contact details are neither added nor guessed. |
| Offline and images | Recognition runs locally. Badge photos are not stored permanently or uploaded by default. | Core recognition runs locally. Card images are not uploaded for classification by default. |
| Plan | Badge capture is included in Free, subject to the published usage limits. | Business-card OCR is not included in Free and requires an effective paid-plan entitlement. |
Control stays visible
The same safeguards for both routes
No invented values
DRADEO does not construct a missing email address or phone number. Uncertain and missing details stay open.
Human confirmation
OCR and mapping are suggestions. A person accepts or corrects them in the regular capture flow.
Separate contact preferences
Capturing a contact does not grant marketing permission. Voluntary contact preferences are documented separately.
